Peacock Vintage started life as one woman’s lovingly assembled wardrobe, full of one off vintage pieces that just didn’t get the wear they deserved as there simply
aren’t enough days in the year!
The natural progression was to share this growing collection with other vintage fashion lovers, and so in May 2014, ‘Peacock Vintage’ was born. It’s really an excuse to justify buying any special vintage pieces that catch my eye, as now it’s not just for me, it’s for all my lovely customers.
I am a London based trader, but my stock is sourced from all over the country, and indeed the world, with a large collection of beautiful American pieces as well as good old British fashion.
I stock items that date from the 1920s to the 1970s: anything after this period I consider to be ‘retro’ rather than ‘vintage’.
Very occasionally a more modern piece catches my eye, (after all, fabulous is fabulous, regardless of date!) but rest assured I will always tell you everything I know about the clothes I sell, with no attempt to add age to newer items.
In the last few years the trend for vintage shopping has really taken off in this country, prices have gone up accordingly in many boutiques, and as a result lots of people feel that a really good vintage dress is out of their budget. I have worked hard to fill my collection with beautiful and unique items that won’t break the bank: there’s something here for every budget, style and shape.
I hope you love the things I have chosen as much as I do, and if you’re looking for something specific please do get in touch, I am very happy to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
One last thing: remember the golden rule of shopping vintage, if you see something you love, buy it, as you’ll probably never see anything like it again!
